The China-Laos Railway is the first cross-border railway project to be mainly invested in, constructed, operated by China, and linked to China's domestic rail system. The international rail corridor runs between Kunming, the capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province, and Vientiane, the capital of Laos.

Spanning 1,035 kilometers, the line symbolizes friendship and marks a new phase in Laos's development as it plays a crucial role in the country's transportation reform, according to Lao authorities.
