HONG KONG - With panda fever running high in Hong Kong, tourists and residents rushed to "check in" near the Clock Tower in Tsim Sha Tsui to take photos with panda dolls on Friday.

The Yau Tsim Mong District Office and other local groups have set up installations as part of festive activities to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and to promote tourism and foster community spirit. The event runs from Friday to Sunday.

People can enjoy the celebratory mood by taking photos at a 4-meter high National Day-themed installation and a mobile promotion van decorated with panda dolls.

China Daily photographer Andy Chong took the photos.
