Victoria Harbour was illuminated by an approximately 23-minute fireworks display on October 1 in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Organized by the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Bureau and sponsored by the Hong Kong Chinese Importers & Exporters' Association, the show featured 31,888 shells launched from three barges and six pontoons.

Themed "Splendid fireworks shining over a prosperous China", the extravaganza unfolded in eight scenes, including tributes to the anniversary and celebration of China's diversity and prosperity, culminating in a display of vibrant colors.
