This year marks the 140th anniversary of the foundation of Hong Kong’s Lo Pan Temple, named after Lo Pan, a master carpenter and inventor in ancient times who is now worshipped as a tutelary deity by the construction industry.

The 2024 Young Lo Pan Award presentation ceremony and other celebratory events were held on Thursday at the temple at Ching Lin Terrace in Kennedy Town to commemorate Lo Pan’s birthday and to recognize the achievements of young talents in the construction industry.

As the temple was showing signs of damage and wear, revitalization work was carried out reviving its former glory. It allows construction professionals to worship Lo Pan in a well-maintained and solemn environment, carrying on the precious "craftsmanship spirit" and architectural heritage.

China Daily’s Adam Lam took the photos on Thursday.
