The vibrant pink Ceiba speciosa, also known as the silk floss tree and "beauty tree" in Chinese, in Guangzhou's Luhu Park is now in full bloom, drawing a large number of visitors.

The plant is native to South America and is widely grown in areas across China's Guangdong and Fujian provinces.

With lush green leaves and trunks that resemble wine bottles, the Ceiba speciosa usually reaches the height of blooming in winter.

China Daily's Parker Zheng took the photos on Wednesday.
