Guangzhou staged a commemorative show on Monday night, as the city celebrated the anniversary of its liberation 75 years ago.
The People's Liberation Army troops reached Guangzhou in October 1949 shortly after the People's Republic of China was established, denoting the city – now the capital of Guangdong province – had welcomed a new era.
The show on Monday included a captivating dance drama and a poetry reading session, attracting thousands of attendees both in person and online.
