Hong Kong was resplendent with bright red hues on Monday, as a slew of celebratory events were held across the special administrative region to mark its big day -- the 27th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to its motherland.
A carnival at a public square in Shau Kei Wan attracted many visitors, while the area near Tsim Sha Tsui's waterfront was packed with hundreds of people waving Chinese national flags and the HKSAR regional flags to celebrate this special day.
Trams, flotillas, as well as many buildings and public facilities, were adored with banners and posters. Activities such as free tram rides were also launched.
China Daily photographers Edmond Tang, Andy Chong and Adam Lam took the photos in different districts.
