The Chinese People's Liberation Army announced that it conducted combat readiness patrols in the territorial waters and airspace of China's Huangyan Island in the South China Sea and its surrounding areas on Wednesday.
The PLA's Southern Theater Command said in a statement that its naval and air forces had carried out the patrols.

The statement said the patrol and vigilance activities conducted by the theater command troops are in accordance with the law.
