Shenzhen is among the top 10 popular destinations for inbound tourists during the National Day holiday period, according to the 2024 National Day Tourism Consumption Report released by China’s top travel product platform ctrip.com.

The data, released on Monday, shows the daily volume of orders placed on the platform for both outbound and inbound travel has exceeded pre-pandemic levels, reaching an all-time high.

According to the data, the top 10 popular outbound travel destinations were Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia.

Brazil, the Philippines, Mexico, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Cambodia, Canada, Vietnam and Portugal recorded the fastest growth.

On the inbound front, Shenzhen ranked among top 10 popular destinations along with Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Chongqing, Xi’an, and Wuhan.

The top 10 source countries for inbound tourists in Shenzhen were Singapore, the US, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, the UK, Thailand, Canada, Australia, and Germany.
