A dazzling drone show involving total 10,197 drones was staged at Shenzhen Bay Park on Thursday night, setting two Guinness world records and ushering in a series of drone performances to celebrate the National Day holiday.
According to the Wenlu Shenzhen (文旅深圳), a WeChat public account of Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Sports, Tourism, Radio and Television, the drone performance created two Guinness world records – "most drones simultaneously airborne under the control of a single computer" and "most drones forming an aerial image".
The show will be repeated for seven consecutive nights at five locations across Shenzhen during the National Day holiday (details below).

Aside from the drone shows, the city has also planned 300 other performances or leisure activities which will held across Shenzhen during the holiday period.
To promote tourism in the city, the bureau has also launched a campaign titled "Maybe Shenzhen", giving out helicopter and boat tour vouchers as well as tickets to tourist attractions.

Where and when to watch the show?
The drone show will be divided into five segments, each lasting 10-15 minutes. The first segment will be performed at Bijiashan Park (笔架山公园) in Futian District, the second at Donghua Park (东湖公园) in Luohu District, the third at Longgang Universiade Center (龙岗大运中心) in Longgang District, the fourth at Mission Hills Ecological Sports Centre (观澜湖生态运动公社) in Longhua District, and the fifth at Moon Bay Square (月亮湾广场) in Nan'ao (南澳), Dapeng New District.
The drone show will be performed in turn at each of these locations from 8-9 pm every night on Oct 1-7.
