The launch of groundbreaking Longevity.Omics Platform: Pioneering a new era in AI-enabled precision health care
By Wang Zhan

Longevity.Omics (https://longevityomics.tech), the world's first one-stop solution from raw biological data to clinical reports, officially launched on September 26, 2024. Medical, healthcare and biotechnology professionals from over 10 countries and 4 continents, including Japan, Singapore, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Indonesia, China and Australia, actively participated in the Longevity.Omics product launch webinar. Attendees engaged in lively discussions and shared their expectations for the breakthroughs that cutting-edge AI-Omics technology will bring to the healthcare and longevity medicine fields.

Prof. Brian Kennedy, a world-renowned aging biology expert, is the Distinguished Professor of Biochemistry and Physiology at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS), and the Director of the Centre for Healthy Longevity at the National University Health System (NUHS). Prof Kennedy opined, “Glad to know that Longevity.Omics is to be launched. This will usher in a new era of precision medicine based on multi-omics technology to further empower the healthy longevity field.”

With aging, cell function deteriorates, which leads to the expression of age-related diseases, e.g. Alzheimer's, heart disease, cancer and arthritis. The current state of medical care is often described as "sick-care", which focuses on treating the symptoms of these age-related diseases (e.g. cancer chemotherapy) and extending lifespan (regardless of the quality of life). However, healthy longevity researchers have proposed treating aging as a root cause of age-related diseases, with personalised, precision "health-care", which would delay / avoid the onset of age-related diseases and extend the "healthspan" (i.e. period of good health without chronic diseases) and improve / maintain the quality of life.

The launch of Longevity.Omics will provide the complete technological toolkit necessary for personalised precision medicine anti-aging interventions to extend over 10 years of healthspan. This will facilitate the extension of every individual’s productive working years and delaying / reducing the onset of chronic diseases would minimize the socio-economic costs of managing chronic diseases. Longevity.Omics-empowered  healthy longevity solutions would therefore have multiplier effects which alleviate global aging population problems, and concurrently reduce healthcare / medical costs of age-related diseases.

"I am thrilled to attend the launch of Longevity.Omics. This innovative approach harnesses multi-omics technology, paving the way for breakthroughs in precision medicine. It's an exciting step forward in our understanding of healthy longevity," enthused Dr. Polakit Teekakirikul, CEO of VitalLife, Bumrungrad International Hospital, Thailand.

"For physicians specializing in longevity medicine, whole genome sequencing and epigenetic clock testing are essential but can be challenging to interpret. In my practice, I utilize both epigenetic clock and whole genome tests. Longevity.Omics is especially noteworthy because it is based on data from Asia and integrates genetic and epigenetic analysis together, which is a new and significant development. I am eager to support this fantastic initiative and look forward to using it in my clinic soon," said Yoko Masuda, Director of the Japanese Society of Cosmetic Internal Medicine.

Longevity.Omics is developed by Quantum Life Ltd (https://quantumlife.tech), which is empowered by the Hong Kong Quantum AI Lab and InnoHK, a world-class innovation and technology initiative launched by the Hong Kong SAR Government. With one of the world’s largest in-house-built libraries of longitudinal multi-omics data across healthy aging and diseases, Quantum Life develops artificial intelligence algorithms to assess the current status of aging, fitness, and health conditions, predicts healthy aging, disease, and longevity outcomes, and offers personalized guidance on preventive and early intervention strategies.

The launch of Longevity.Omics coincides with the 75th anniversary celebrations of the People's Republic of China. Joining in the celebrations, Quantum Life, in collaboration with China Daily, is hosting an eight-day "Duckling Victoria Harbour Parade" event from September 30 to October 7.
