Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala seeks 2nd term as WTO chief

GENEVA - World Trade Organization (WTO) Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will seek another four-year term as chief of the trade body, the WTO spokesperson announced on Monday.

According to the spokesperson, her decision was formally conveyed on Monday to the WTO General Council.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is the seventh director-general of the WTO. She took office on March 1, 2021, becoming the first woman and the first African in this position. Her term of office will expire on Aug 31, 2025.
