Haaland, Man City march on as Arsenal beat Spurs in North London derby

LONDON - Manchester City remain the only team in the Premier League with a 100 percent record after two more goals from Erling Haaland helped them overcome an early setback to secure a win at home against Brentford.

The game was just 24 seconds old when Yoane Wissa put the visitors ahead. However, Haaland restored order before halftime with goals in the 19th and 32nd minutes, bringing his season tally to nine.

Arsenal moved into second place with a 1-0 win away to Tottenham in a heated North London derby, despite injuries to Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino, and the suspension of Declan Rice. Tottenham had more possession and created more chances, but Arsenal were more clinical, with Gabriel Magalhaes scoring the game's only goal from a corner in the 64th minute.

Callum Hudson-Odoi earned Nottingham Forest their first victory at Anfield in 55 years with a curling shot in the 72nd minute to beat Liverpool 1-0, ending Liverpool's perfect start to the season.

The former Chelsea winger was given time to pick his spot in the far corner, scoring the first goal Liverpool have conceded this season.

Chelsea performed a 'smash and grab' raid away to Bournemouth, who deserved at least a point after hitting the woodwork twice and seeing a penalty saved.

Christopher Nkunku scored from Jadon Sancho's pass in the 86th minute to secure the win. The match was also notable for the referee issuing a Premier League record of 14 yellow cards.

On Sunday, Harvey Barnes' 80th-minute strike completed a quick comeback to give Newcastle United a 2-1 win away to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Mario Lemina had put Wolves ahead in the 36th minute, but luck was against them when Fabian Schar's shot deflected into the net in the 75th minute.

Barnes sealed the win five minutes later. Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag will breathe a sigh of relief after his side's 3-0 win away to Southampton.

Matthijs de Ligt opened the scoring in the 35th minute, and goals from Marcos Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho followed, the latter scoring deep into injury time.

United goalkeeper Andre Onana made crucial saves, including a penalty stop from Cameron Archer.

Everton surrendered a two-goal lead for the second consecutive game after Dwight McNeil and Dominic Calvert-Lewin had put them 2-0 up away to Aston Villa after 27 minutes.

Ollie Watkins scored twice for Villa in the 36th and 58th minutes, and Jhon Duran sealed the win with a stunning shot 15 minutes before the end.

Danny Ings scored a 95th-minute equalizer to earn West Ham a point away to Fulham, who had taken the lead in the first half through Raul Jimenez.

Crystal Palace came back from 2-0 down at home against Leicester City to salvage a draw, with Jean-Philippe Mateta scoring two second-half goals - the second an injury-time penalty - after Jamie Vardy and Stephy Mavididi had put Leicester in a commanding position.

Ipswich Town produced a solid defensive display to frustrate Brighton, resulting in a 0-0 draw.
