The Hong Kong Observatory canceled the typhoon signal No 1 on Sunday afternoon as Severe Typhoon Yinxing moved further away from the city.

The observatory said in a weather advisory that Yinxing continued to weaken as it gradually moved southwestwards away from the coast of Guangdong.

"All tropical cyclone signals were cancelled at 3:20 pm," the HKO said.

As of 3 pm, Yinxing was estimated to be about 420 kilometers south-southwest of Hong Kong and was forecast to move southwest at about 12 kilometers per hour in the general direction of the seas south of Hainan Island.
