The celebration of Tin Hau Festival in Hong Kong reached its climax on Friday as the five-day temple fair Tsing Yi Bamboo Theatre continued with a traditional Fa Pau parade.

Fa Pau is a type of lightweight tower crafted with paper and bamboo strips which are traditionally used as tributes to Chinese deities.

To celebrate the birthday of Tin Hau, a sea goddess, Tsing Yi district on Wednesday launched the annual celebratory event Tsing Yi Bamboo Theatre at Tsing Luk Street Playground. A Fa Pau parade and lion dance performances took place on Friday as part of the ritual to honor the deity.

The Tsing Yi Bamboo Theatre will last until Sunday.
